Description from the seller
Brief info.
This is a unique and original creation made by the artist.
Not to be confused with a giclée, an impression on canvas, or artificial intelligence. Oil acrylic on original canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher with keys.
Before shipping, the canvas will be protected with an anti-UV varnish, the edges will be painted white for those who do not wish to frame it, a hanging system will be installed, and the delivery will include its certificate of authenticity and insurance for its value in secure packaging.
Olivier Pfleger was born in 1967.
Passionate about drawing and painting since childhood, in 1985 he tirelessly participated in numerous exhibitions that led to his recognition, and he became a Professional painter in 2002.
He opened his first gallery in Castillonnes with his wife Caroline Mandrafina in 2005, then a second three years later in Monflanquin, a very touristy village.
Starting from 2011, he will participate in numerous art competitions, festivals, and salons.
Grand Prix at the Saint Malo Festival in 2012, Grand Prix of the Public at the Salies Painting Festival in 2012, first prize in Bordeaux in 2012, first oil prize at the Magné Festival, first prize in Barsac, first prize at the Périgueux Golden Frame, Grand Prix of the City of Nérac. The list is long from 2012 to 2018. Olivier has consistently placed on the podium with over 35 first places, not counting second and third places. When asked about this relentless pursuit, he responds, 'It's personal. I am self-taught; for me, it's a form of recognition.'
While Olivier Pfleger initially stands out for highly structured and elaborate paintings, he gradually moves away from this. Driven by a desire for freedom and guided by the energy of his gestures, he finds in oil painting with a palette knife a creative vibration that leads him to deconstruct his entire canvases. Colors take precedence over drawing, and details tend to fade away, as if to focus on the essential. Characters, landscapes, skies, and seas intertwine to give way to the emotion of the moment. A timeless moment, not frozen, but undulating as if Olivier's knife is still working, even as he is already entirely turned toward a new canvas.
