Description from the seller
After the sky is a work that speaks of passage and of what remains when the flight is interrupted. The figure of the bird is not described in a naturalistic way but evoked through dense, material painterly gestures, almost carved into the surface of the canvas. The brushwork is instinctive, sometimes scratched, and constructs a fragile body, suspended between presence and dissolution.
The warm and earthy background suggests an inner space more than a physical place: an 'after' that is not only temporal but emotional and existential. The work explores the boundary between strength and vulnerability, between momentum and surrender, recurring themes in the artist's exploration.
The material of painting thus becomes a language of the wound and resistance, revealing a truth that is not openly declared but hidden beneath the surface of the color.
Unique artwork, signed, provided with a certificate of authenticity, belonging to the artist's expressionist exploration of the theme of fragility and the body as a space of transformation.
