Description from the seller

Unique photograph from my private collection by Enrique Meneses in 1958 in Sierra Maestra with Fidel Castro for collectors.
In the photograph, Fidel listens to the complaints of the
Guajiros. His lieutenant, the black Almeida, takes note.
Enrique Meneses' photographs have appeared in publications around the world, such as Paris Match and The New York Times.
He photographed what he witnessed, with the genuine intention of capturing an image to document an event. He disregarded all aesthetic artifices and acted as an absent photographer to avoid altering the moment.
Meneses witnessed major events of his time, such as the death of Manolete, the march on Washington for Civil Rights, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He photographed Dalí, Nasser, Hussein of Jordan, Faisal of Arabia, the Dalai Lama, the Shah of Iran, Farah Diba, Salvador Dalí, Martin Luther King Jr., Muhammad Ali, Picasso, Bob Dylan, Kennedy, Hussein of Jordan, among others.
