The term "Tecchi Jitte 鉄地十手" refers to a type of jitte that differs from the regular ones in that its main body is made of iron. While typical jitte are commonly crafted from wood or bamboo, the "Tecchi Jitte 鉄地十手" is, as the name suggests, made of iron. This variant is usually designed for use in martial arts and self-defense, crafted with the intent for striking and restraining.
Jitte is a traditional Japanese weapon, primarily used by samurai and police officers during the Edo period. In English, it is also known as "tonfa" or "tontō." The jitte has a thick handle with a short horizontal bar attached on one side. It was utilized for striking, defense, and capturing an opponent's weapon. Samurai often carried jitte as part of their bushido, and during the Edo period, police officers used it as a weapon.
