An attractive and sober Japanese Zushi shrine with a cast iron statue of the Goddess Kanon in it. The inside in gold lacquer, the outside in black lacquer. High 60 cm, in opened state 50 cm wide. The outside is embellished with fine gilt brass mounts that are darkened by intensive incense use. Kanon in very popular in Japan and the Goddess of listening and comforting. The altar is in good state of preservation.
