PIX A presents the original, hand-signed acrylic on black cotton fabric portrait 'Smoking Man After Camus' (130 x 100 cm; total 140 x 113 cm), an expressionist work from 2025 in excellent condition, rolled for shipping directly from the artist's Berlin studio, with a certificate of authenticity included.
Description from the seller
Expressionist monochrome portrait inspired by the figure of Albert Camus, portrayed as a “Smoking Man.” The composition is built with forceful, gestural strokes emerging from a deep black ground. The tension of the gaze, the compressed mouth and the stark contrasts create a psychological presence that immediately anchors the viewer.
The work is painted directly on black cotton fabric, allowing the dark support to structure the tonal construction and enhance the raw luminosity of the white acrylic. This reverse-light technique reinforces the dramatic, almost existential charge of the piece and gives the portrait a sculptural depth.
