Description from the seller
In this work, I continue my investigation into the totemic figure as a space of synthesis between the human, the mechanical, and the spiritual. The composition is built around a vertical structure reminiscent of modern idols—figures that do not belong to a specific time but to a symbolic language that unfolds across planes of color and precise geometries.
I work the palette from a ritual intention: luminous turquoise functions as zones of emotional breathing; ochres, browns, and reddish tones add earthly density; while the pinks and lilacs in the background create an atmospheric contrast that envelops the figure in a field of silence. This chromatic relationship allows the piece to oscillate between the intimate and the monumental, between the corporeal and the archetypal.
The central figure, fragmented and recombined, retains a symbolic unity through the red and blue eye, a motif that acts as an energy center and point of consciousness within the geometric body. Each module, each curved or rectangular shape inserted, participates in an internal balance reminiscent of the visual alphabets of Caribbean Cubism and the technical Surrealism that appears in Domínguez's work.
Interruptions, voids, and small graphic signals—dots, semicircles, floating pieces—function as extensions of the body, as if the figure continues to grow beyond the canvas. I want the viewer to perceive the character not as a literal representation, but as an abstract organism in a state of transformation.
The work emerges as a meeting between form, sign, and energy, a space where the geometric becomes spiritual and where the figure is revealed halfway between the earthly and the dreamlike.
