Description from the seller

2017 Quinta dos Poços Vintage Port 2 x 0.75L
2 Bottles
Port Wine

DESCRIPTION
The Quinta is called dos Poços (of the Wells) after the multiple water springs that sprout from its soil when the rainfall in the region is intense. It was also suggested that its name is because it is located in front of the point 130 or Point of Puddles described by Baron of Forrester on his map "O Douro Portuguez e Paiz Adjacente" in 1848.
Quinta dos Poços is located in the World Heritage area of the Demarcated Region of Douro, in the Lower Corgo area, in the village of Valdigem, commune of Lamego. It is one of the oldest in the region, the main house being a typical rural manor house from the XVIII century. It was there that french troops of the General of Brigade Loison - the "Maneta" (one-handed) - stationed, by the time of the first napoleonic invasion, in 1808.The Quinta belongs to the family of Prof. Doctor José Manuel da Costa Mesquita Guimarães.
Quinta dos Poços extends itself over 25 ha. (61,78 acres) of slaty soil typical from the Region, 21 of which are totally mechanised in terraced vines and in vertical lines.

WINEMAKER: António Rosas & Filipa Pizarro.

AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS
Silver Medal, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles

WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional (80%); Sousão (10%) & Tinto Cão (10%).

VINIFICATION
In granite presses with foot treading over 5 days of alcoholic fermentation, followed by 48 hours of maceration in a stainless steel vat, after fortification with brandy. Aged 22 months in stainless steel vat.

TASTING NOTES
Deep violet color. Deep and strong nose with intense aromas of rip black fruits. In the mouth it is firm and concentrated with rip but soft tannins. With a long and persistent finish in the mouth, it is balanced with an excellent acidity that gives it enormous freshness.

SERVING
It goes well with chocolate-based desserts, intense cheeses and nuts. Store in a horizontal position, in a cool and dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC. Consume in moderation.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
