【Product details】
This elegant standing figure of Kwan Yin (Guanyin), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is believed to respond to the cries of the suffering and guide them toward salvation with mercy and grace.
Carved by hand from wood and richly adorned, the statue wears flowing robes sprinkled with delicate pieces of mother-of-pearl, catching the light with every angle. The surface is finished in black and red lacquer, with areas highlighted using lacquer mixed with gold powder, lending warmth and depth to the graceful folds of her garment.
A glass jewel is set into the forehead, and the figure holds a lotus flower in one hand and a vase in the other—both arms are removable.
There are signs of age throughout: minor scuffing, some lacquer losses, small chips, discolouration, and a few visible cracks, including a prominent one on the back. The lotus stem has two breaks. Please refer to the photos for condition details.
