Description from the seller

This elegant sea foam pipe, hand-carved and presented in its original molded case, follows the tradition of Turkish workshops specialized in shaping meerschaum. The depicted figure — a bearded man wearing a richly structured turban — refers to models produced in the Eskisehir region, a historic center for the extraction and shaping of sea foam. The detachable synthetic amber-tinted mouthpiece, likely added at a later date, harmoniously completes the ensemble.

The pipe is distinguished by a sculpted head in high relief: the folds of the turban, the lateral braids, the stylized feathers, and the abundant beard all testify to a level of craftsmanship typical of Turkish workshops from the mid to late 20th century. The mount features a slightly curved stem, perfectly fitted to hold the threaded tip made of amber acrylic. The rigid case, covered externally with black faux leather, closely follows the shape of the pipe; the interior is lined with warm brown velvet, designed to protect against humidity variations and shocks. The entire set forms a complete and harmonious object.

The overall condition is remarkable: the pipe has never been used and shows no internal deposits or signs of heat. The surface of the sea foam, soft and matte, retains its natural ivory hue, marked only by a few superficial scratches related to handling and storage. The mouthpiece and its threading are impeccable. The case shows slight signs of age but remains fully functional, with an operational closure.

Sea foam, a mineral material mainly extracted in Turkey, has been appreciated since the 18th century for its lightness, porosity, and the exceptional quality it offers for smoking. In the 20th century, workshops in Eskisehir developed a refined expertise in sculpting orientalistic figures, often intended for export. These pieces demonstrate craftsmanship that combines tradition, technical virtuosity, and unique aesthetics. This pipe, with its original molded case, is fully part of this production and exemplifies the characteristic mastery of that period.

The dimensions are:
Length: 15 centimeters.
Height: 7.2 centimeters.
Total weight of the set: 125 grams.

The pipe and its case will be carefully packed and shipped quickly, securely, and insured. Local pickup and combined shipping are available. The photos are part of the description.
