Sigurd von Ilsemann
Ilsemann was an officer in World War I. In 1918, he joined the staff of the former emperor and fled with him to the Netherlands. Until the emperor's death, Ilsemann was his adjutant.
Von Ilsemann remained loyal to the emperor in his exile and kept diaries during their stay in the Netherlands. Von Ilsemann describes the life of the emperor, his family, his staff, and the personnel at Huis Doorn.
Diary of the exile period
Ilsemann's diary describes the entire exile period of Wilhelm II: from the end of the First World War until the death of the emperor, at the beginning of the Second World War.
Parts of the diaries were published in German in the late 1960s, so these two books!
