This exquisite bronze sculpture, titled Yūri-mon Okimono (遊鯉紋置物), meaning "Swimming Carp Ornament," is a remarkable work by renowned Japanese sculptor Takeuchi Fubō (竹内不忘, 1909–2011). The piece captures a koi carp mid-swim, rendered in dynamic detail and textured realism. The fish rests atop a highly polished green-black stone base, enhancing the naturalistic effect of the sculpture. The bronze surface exhibits a fine aged patina, with soft blue-green hues that accentuate the aquatic theme.
The sculpture comes in its original tomobako (artist-signed wooden box), which is inscribed with the title and signed by the artist himself, further confirming authenticity. The artist’s signature is also engraved on the underside of the bronze work.
