AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Paleofish #138
Acrylic on canvas measuring 90 × 130 cm, ideal for a frame of 80 × 120 × 3.5 cm.
When I paint these prehistoric fish, I feel as if I am descending into an underwater cave where time has ceased to exist for millennia. In front of me, the surface of the canvas becomes an ancient wall, eroded by silent currents, as if it were a hidden chamber in the depths of an forgotten ocean. I imagine the first divers, discovering these creatures suspended in the rock amidst flashes of their lanterns: totemic fish, guardians of the primitive echo of water. Every stroke I apply is not just color, but a fossil record, a trace that connects my hand with the gestures of a remote painter who never existed, but whom I invent to inhabit my world.
I work in acrylic on a 90 x 130 cm canvas, designed to rest on a frame of 80 x 120 x 3.5 cm. I do this as if rescuing a fragment of history that has yet to be told. In those tense lines, in the chromatic bursts, and in the reddish earth that supports the composition, my language is recognized: Neorupestrismo, that persistent search for the primal in a contemporary key.
I paint to reveal what I feel lies hidden: the luminous memory of what we were beneath the waters of origin.

Unique and Original Work
Each painting is a unique creation, sent directly from my studio. I use high-quality acrylics and oils, along with innovative mixed media techniques, including dripping, waxes, acrylic markers, pens, rollers, brushes, and spatulas. This combination allows me to achieve distinctive strokes and textures that bring my works to life.
To facilitate framing, each canvas includes an additional 5-centimeter margin on all sides. The edges are painted with a wrap-around finish, allowing the artwork to be appreciated in its entirety, whether framed with an American box or unframed. To ensure durability and protect the colors from UV rays, each painting receives a layer of high-quality satin varnish.

Images are illustrative and may not represent the exact scale of the work, so it is recommended to review the actual dimensions carefully.
Likewise, the colors displayed on the screen may differ slightly from the original tones of the artwork; in live viewing, it always improves.

Secure Shipping and Certificate of Authenticity
Paintings are carefully rolled and securely packaged to facilitate transportation. Each shipment includes a printed certificate of authenticity, signed by me, Onofre Alarcón (O.A.), which certifies the exclusivity and originality of the artwork.

My name is Onofre Alarcón, and my life has been connected to the brush since childhood. I grew up alongside my father—a visual artist and nativity scene master—who taught me to see the world through the eyes of an artist, a perspective that has never left me. Although I was professionally trained as a decorator and graphic designer, painting has always been my natural language. I consider myself an intuitive and self-taught artist, creating from emotion, without formulas or academicism, allowing the stroke, the stain, and the color to guide expression. My work unfolds in several lines that dialogue with each other and enrich one another:
On one hand, spontaneous neo-expressionism, where free gestures, raw material, and raw emotion are the protagonists.
On the other hand, neorupestrismo is a personal proposal that revives rock art from a contemporary and symbolic perspective. In this line, ancestral strokes, atavistic scenes, and symbols of imaginary or lost cultures coexist, inviting the viewer to travel between times, territories, and dimensions.
But if there is a place where the soul of my work resides, it is in my seascapes. As an Alicante artist, the Mediterranean is not just a landscape but a vital and constant source of inspiration. When I paint the sea, I do so with the naturalness, intensity, and rhythm of a deep breath. My wish is that you can not only see it but also hear it, feel it, and even smell it. The blues, greens, whites, and ochres are the colors where I find its strength, its memory, and its freedom. Each seascape is, for me, an intimate encounter with the sea.

Alongside the marine paintings, I also develop still lifes full of presence and gestural abstractions that share the freshness of a direct stroke, the tactile richness of textures, and the emotional strength of color. I also do not forget the pleasure of painting in oil, a noble technique that has always accompanied me and to which I return again and again with respect and passion.
Many of my works have traveled and found a home in more than fourteen countries in Europe, which serves as a deep motivation for me to continue exploring, evolving, and sharing my pictorial universe.
My signature, O.A., is more than a signature: it is the mark.
What I leave in each box is a small lighthouse that signals my step and my voice on the surface of the painting.
