A powerful and captivating kakejiku depicting a tiger by the celebrated Japanese painter Oyama Yukyo (1879–1940), active from the late Meiji through the early Showa period.

Executed by hand on silk, the tiger is portrayed in a tense, grounded posture with an intense forward gaze. The artist’s refined brushwork beautifully conveys the creature’s musculature, fur texture, and expressive eyes.
A soft ink-rendered mountain forms the backdrop, creating a tranquil contrast that enhances the dramatic presence of the tiger.
