Exquisite example of the Swan Self-Filler S.F.1 manufactured by Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd. in England around the 1930s. The piece is preserved in excellent original condition, with no cracks or deformations, featuring a body of warm-toned brown ebonite with a glossy surface that retains its historic patina. The engravings—clear and deep—demonstrate the authenticity and the quality of craftsmanship characteristic of the Swan house.

The side lever filling system is operational and secure, with the internal bag flexible and in usable condition. The original 14-karat solid gold nib, engraved with the legend 'Swan 14Ct Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd.', exhibits perfect elasticity and a balanced ink flow, offering a fine and smooth stroke, with a pleasant semi-flexible response.

The metal elements, including the ball-type clip, maintain their uniform gold finish with slight signs of use consistent with their age.
