Description from the seller
Thilo (Friedrich) Maatsch (1900 - 1983).
Woodcut on laid paper, handsigned, numbered and dated by the artist (1922).
One of 100 copies published.
Size: 30,5 x 43 cm.
One of the leading exponents of constructivism and abstraction in the avant-garde of the early 20th century and a comrade-in-arms of Kandinsky and Paul Klee. And a victim, like them, of the degenerate art of Nazism.
Beautiful woodcut. Minimalism according to Maatsch.
Very well preserved. Please see photographs.
