Head - Busto di Fanciullo - Patinated bronze

Beautiful patinated bronze sculpture dating from the first half of the twentieth century, originating from Italy and depicting the bust of a young boy. It features realistic and expressive features, with curly hair and a lively expression, seemingly typical of the Neapolitan school of sculpture; it could indeed be a Neapolitan street urchin. The Neapolitan artistic tradition, renowned for portraying popular subjects and scenes of everyday life, was famous for works by De Martino and Vincenzo Gemito. This piece bears the initials E.B. carved on the back. It rests on a charming Breccia Pernice marble base.
