Malle Jan is an original oil painting by Anton Rovers (1921-2003) from 1930–1940, in Realisme, painted in Nederland, hand-signed, sold with frame, and measuring 65 x 52 cm with frame (50 x 38 cm without frame) in good condition.
Description from the seller
This painting depicts a man riding with his horse and carriage along a rural path, surrounded by bare winter shrubs and a high, soft sky in light pastel tones. The composition is frontal and powerful: the horse is centered and almost tangibly prominent, while the coachman behind is in shadow, only partially illuminated. The loose, broad brushstrokes in the sky contrast with the more detailed form of the horse, giving the work a lively, natural appearance. The subdued colors and the play of light and shadow create a restrained, realistic atmosphere that conveys the simplicity of rural life.
Dimensions of work with frame: 65 x 52 cm
Dimensions of the work without frame: 50 x 38 cm.
The work is available for viewing at our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay has a framing shop (celebrating their 85th anniversary this year) and a restoration studio. If you wish to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
