Imposing Baroque composition centered on a New Testament episode of profound devotional charge. The scene is structured in two levels: at the top, Christ descends from a luminous and turbulent sky, wrapped in a golden glow and accompanied by celestial figures. His stylized anatomy and the fluidity of the drapery reflect the influence of early Italian Baroque, where theatricality and visual dynamism prevail over strict Renaissance proportion.

In the lower area, an intense earthly scene unfolds, featuring a lively group of characters reacting with amazement, fear, or supplication to the divine appearance. Among them, figures are seen in dramatic poses, some kneeling, others raising their arms in a gesture of pleading, all depicted with a pronounced chiaroscuro that emphasizes depth and narrative drama. The work presents a warm, earthy palette typical of the Italian school of the Seicento, dominated by ochres, siennas, and reds that highlight the spiritual gravity of the event.

The brushwork is loose in some areas and more defined on the faces and hands, indicating the search for emotional expressiveness characteristic of the period. The canvas shows signs of aging, especially in the lower central area, where darkening and wear of the pictorial layer are evident.
