This colorful lithograph titled 'Flevoland' is a work by Corneille (1922–2010), one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (along with, among others, Karel Appel and Constant). His work is characterized by vibrant colors, playful shapes, and recurring themes such as birds, women, and exotic landscapes.
This lithograph, printed in 2004, is numbered 51 of 200 copies and is in excellent condition. The work has never been framed, which has helped the colors remain particularly vibrant.
Corneille's art remains beloved worldwide for its expressive style and optimistic appearance — Overijssel is a beautiful example of his late, mature period in which color and imagination are central.
