Parker 51 Vacumatic fountain pen with a black resin body and a brushed metal cap, silver-plated material, dating from the mid-20th century in the United States, in good used condition with minor signs of wear, 134.5 mm long and 11 mm in diameter, one item, in working order, with a 14K nib.
Description from the seller
Parker '51' Vacumatic fountain pen in a very attractive and honest set, ideal for both collection and use. The body in black resin has a deep shine, with light signs of use typical of age: micro surface marks and fine scratches that are only visible against the light, with no evident dents or visible cracks in the photos. The silhouette remains clean and well-proportioned, with the classic and elegant aesthetic that made the '51' famous.
The brushed metal cap maintains a very good overall appearance: it shows micro-scratches and small handling marks typical of this finish (normal in Lustraloy caps), but without any notable dents. The arrow-shaped clip and the gold-tone details display patina and gentle wear in contact areas, consistent with use, yet still maintaining a very aesthetic presence. The set conveys a well-cared-for piece, with vintage character, but well preserved.
The pen features the characteristic hidden nib marked 14K, and the nib/feed section appears complete and without missing parts. Important: since it is a Vacumatic, functionality depends on the condition of the internal diaphragm; I recommend considering servicing/adjustment if the buyer intends intensive daily use (or specify in the listing if it has been tested/charged correctly, in case it has been tested).
Remarks: piece with charm and presence, with limited aesthetic wear appropriate to its era; a '51' very marketable due to its classic configuration (black + brushed metal cap).
Shipping note: it will be carefully protected to prevent movement and rubbing during transportation.
