Description
Created in 2006 in Serranès, Goddess and Muse illustrates Michel Pinel's fascination with the relationship between the human body and classical sculpture.
The composition depicts a nude model lying on a stone bench, under the gaze of a sculpted figure, in a subtle play of correspondences between flesh and marble.
Summer light, filtered through the trees, creates a web of shifting shadows that envelops the scene with an atmosphere both mythological and intimate.
Through his slightly off-center framing and pronounced depth of field, Pinel manages to merge nature, art, and sensuality into a single poetic vision.
Condition
Excellent condition. Baryta print with fine gradation, balanced contrasts, intact surface. Stamp, inscriptions, and numbering are perfectly legible on the back.
Provenance: Family collection of the photographer who passed away in 2022.
