Created in 1983, Hôtel Métropoles is part of Michel Pinel's series of Brussels interiors, where the artist explores the tension between intimacy and staging.
The nude model, stretched out on a hotel bed, is captured in a posture that is both relaxed and sculptural.
The composition, rigorously constructed, plays on the diagonals of the furniture and the geometry of the walls, giving the image a cinematic dimension. The artificial light, raw and directional, accentuates the contrast between the flesh and the textile surfaces, creating a cozy atmosphere imbued with discreet eroticism and melancholy.
Condition
Excellent condition. Original barytic print, surface perfectly preserved, clear mark and inscriptions on the back.
Provenance: Family collection of the photographer who passed away in 2022.

After studying in Cahors, he moved to Milan, where he met the director Paul Casalini, who introduced him to photography and helped him develop a love for it. He ventured into the profession, which quickly became his passion. Michel Pinel creates fashion photographs.
A devotee of pure photography, he produces in his studio prints of remarkable quality. He invests himself in what has become his favorite mode of expression: nude photographs.
