DESCRIPTION
The story of José Fortunato Júnior and his wife, Antónia Soares Fortunato, is that of a lifetime dedicated to Port Wine. In 1941, they acquired Quinta da Devesa and today it remains an independent family business dedicated to production of Port and Douro wines. Quinta da Devesa carries a long history. In 1844, the well-known Barão de Forrester, included this property in what was the first map of the Douro Demarcated Region. But the most important history of this property began in the last century, in 1941, when the Fortunato family acquired the property, thus starting a new phase of greater investment in wine production, with a special focus on Port Wine. Later on, the DOC Douro still wines also became part of the portfolio.

WINE VARIETIES: Traditional from Douro Region.

VINIFICATION
Quinta da Devesa Port Wines, are produced exclusively from lots vinified and aged in the estate. Since 1941, vintages considered of superior quality by the family winemakers, were kept and stored in wooden barrels in the winery cellars. These extraordinary quality wines are used today to produce Quinta da Devesa Port Wines. This +40 year old Port is the result of a blend of very old wines from Quinta da Devesa, developed with noble wine grapes used in the Douro region, aged over decades in wooden casks at Quinta da Devesa cellars. Quinta da Devesa vineyards are managed using sustainable agricultural practices, in accordance with the Sustainable Agriculture Integrated Production guidelines, certified by an independent organization, recognized by the Portuguese State.

TASTING NOTES
Notes of roasted nut and espresso bean. A tropical mix with nuttiness and an interesting orange/vanilla "creamsicle" flavor that was intriguing on the medium palate. Finishes with layers of mahogany and molasses, with grip and a long aftertaste.

SERVING
Serve at 14ºC. Once opened, preserves its good tasting notes for at least 2 months.
