Raffaele Barsciglie' (1913-1994) - Orchestrina - XL format

Extraordinary oil on canvas work by the artist Raffaele Barsciglie, who began his painting career in 1933 and immediately achieved great success. He chose to depict Naples with its alleys, markets, saint shrines, processions, crowds on the church steps, the common folk in front of the low houses, and the roasted chestnut vendor, thus highlighting his hometown.
Later, he meets Eduardo De Filippo, who elevates him to 'official set designer' for his comedies and says of him: 'All of Barscigliè's paintings are born spontaneously.'
The work offered at auction, created in 1948, depicts a scene with street musicians of fine craftsmanship and pictorial quality.
