Artist biography
Painter, watercolorist, and filmmaker. Siro Manuel Lorenzo Salazar (1926-2003) studied at the School of Fine Arts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, completing his training in Barcelona, the city where he settled after marrying in 1955. His work, characterized by an impressionist touch, always stood out for the harmony with which he worked light, being a great colorist, conveying feelings and emotions, and filled with meticulousness and intimacy. He was enamored with luminosity and the colors of the landscape, especially his homeland; an innovator in watercolor technique, breaking molds. He worked as a Canary outside his land, passionate about Guanche indigenous culture and Canary culture in general, and a great conversationalist.
