Partner in crime is a 2025 original mixed media pastel artwork in a naïve art style depicting an urban landscape, measuring 160 × 260 cm, signed by hand and produced in France.
Description from the seller
Partner in crime
Two silhouettes alone facing the world.
A woman, a man.
Life passing by
Love and the sacred union.
Life partner
To life, to death.
The New Brutalism
In the spirit of Le Corbusier, of architectural brutalism. Here, I aimed to impose a clear, violent, and powerful reading of space. Worked with a vivid stroke at times, a slow flat area at others, and integrated the raw white of the primed canvas — like the gray of brutalist concrete — through a few large color motifs and strong black lines crossing them.
Keep the work minimal: no color overlaps, no writings, no explanations. Just a piece with a few primary colors. Sometimes dark green. But mainly leave as much space as possible for white or the plain background of the canvas.
Here we keep the core of neo-expressionism, its nervousness, while removing its superfluous elements.
Here, we seek raw expression, structure, and violence within a thoughtfully designed organization. Achieved. Ultra minimal.
A modern version of Brutalism. More straightforward, lighter. A kind of dopamine detox from pop art, neo-expressionism, and art itself. A violent zen garden.
Important Technical Information
Shipping: the canvas is sent rolled, with insurance.
- Blockchain-connected paper COA
- Dimension: 160 x 260 cm (approximately 150 x 250 cm once mounted on a frame)
