Description from the seller
** NO RESERVE **
Boers, Frans Jacob Diederich Boers was born in 1914 near Liège. He lived and worked in Amsterdam, Laren (at Kloosterweg 18), Baarn, and Nieuwegein, where he passed away in 1987. Boers was self-taught and painted, drew, and watercolored in an impressionistic style, depicting animals, landscapes, and portraits. He was a member of the association Beeldende Kunstenaars Laren-Blaricum. In 1950, Frans Boers visited the Wadden Island of Texel for a holiday. It was his first time there, and he was so delighted by everything he saw that he couldn’t resist creating a series of drawings. These drawings were published in 1977 in a book titled 'A Artist Saw Texel,' with text by J. A. van der Vlis. The many, diverse Texel landscapes, old farms and sheep pens, winding dikes, beautiful bird reserves, beaches, dunes, and forests were immortalized by Frans Boers for future generations. In the 1980s, a similar book featuring drawings by Frans Boers was published under the title 'An Artist Saw Northwest Overijssel.' Works by Frans Boers are included, among others, in the collection of the Singer Museum in Laren and in the national collection.
Oil painting on canvas, canvas size 50x70cm, in very good condition. Newly framed, this will also be included for free with the artwork within the EU. Outside the EU, shipping is limited due to size and fragility.
Goods are carefully packed and sent internationally by registered mail.
