This photograph was taken with a digital camera and printed on fine art museological paper. The images in the Atemporal series evoke a world where everything existed only as resting matter. The stones, in their silent monumentality, are depicted as presences. The choice of black and white reinforces this sense of being out of time, as if we were witnessing the record of an archetypal memory of the world. The formal simplicity and rawness of the compositions reveal an aesthetic of completeness: there is no excess, only the essential: mass, form, light, and shadow.
