Crafted at Japan's Shizuoka distillery, which began operations in 2016, this single malt whisky is produced using 100% locally sourced Japanese barley and distilled in historic ex-Karuizawa stills.

When the Karuizawa distillery was closed in 2011, they had some distillery equipment that was left over. When the Shizuoka distillery was started up by Taiko Makamura in 2016, they managed to get their hands on one

The Shizuoka Pot Still W is distilled from 100% imported barley. Most of it (70%) was peated malt from Scotland, but the mash bill also included 20% unpeated malt from Scotland, and 10% German beer malt. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels and new American oak barrels.

Unique Objects

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.


Double bid
