This Herbarium from the 30s, created and collected in the Netherlands between 1930 and 1937, contains plant specimens collected by hand. Each sheet records details for a specific plant. Around 64 pages of beautifully crafted, handwritten notes with the dryed plant specimens from around the Netherlands. In the 1930s, the Netherlands experienced a remarkable surge in the popularity of personal herbaria (plantenverzamelingen). While pressing plants had long been a pursuit of elite academics and 19th-century gentlemen scientists, the interwar period transformed it into a mainstream cultural phenomenon.
