Max Planck - Theory of Light - 1932
Theory of Light By Max Planck.
Published By: Macmillan and Co. Limited. 1932,
First English edition. First Printing.
Max Planck's theory of light, also known as the quantum theory of light, proposed that light energy is not continuous but is emitted and absorbed in discrete packets called "quanta" or "photons". The energy (\(E\)) of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency (\(\nu \)), a relationship expressed by the equation \(E=h\nu \), where (\(h\)) is a fundamental constant known as Planck's constant. This revolutionary idea, presented in 1900, departed from classical wave theory and laid the foundation for modern quantum physics.
