He works primarily for the two major US publishing houses DC Comics and Marvel Comics. After working on Spider-Man for Marvel UK, an offshoot of the US publisher, Kitson was hired as an artist for the British magazine Judge Dredd. There he visualized stories by authors such as Alan Grant and Grant Morrison. For DC Comics, Kitson drew comic books for series such as Adventures of Superman, Azrael, Batman: Shadow of the Bat, The Titans, The Brave and the Bold, L.E.G.I.O.N. and the Catwoman stories for the Action Comics Weekly series. He also drew several issues for the Batman anthology Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight (#146-148) and special projects such as Batman/Punisher, Batgirl Special, JLA: Year One and Batman: Book of the Dead.
