Karuizawa Hanshin Tigers special release Sanraku Ocean was owner of Karuizawa distillery. Karuizawa is the gold standard of rare Japanese whisky. Although the distillery closed its doors in 2011, it had not produced whisky for over a decade. Being a silent distillery, everything from Karuizawa is a rare collector’s whisky and the Karuizawa hanshin Tigers series is no exception. It is said that the mist and wind near the now closed distillery furnish the best surroundings for whisky making, and if you have ever tried Karuizawa, we are sure that you would agree.
