A rare walnut Empire style sofa, 1880s/1900s. Late Empire style two/three-seat settee, constructed in solid mahogany wood with a warm, deep patina. Features characteristic Empire elements including fluted column uprights, a gently arched crest rail, and block-form arms with restrained classical detailing. Upholstered in a later cream striped fabric. Raised on stout legs with brass caps, consistent with the period. There are object holder storages under the armrests (seen on photos). The sofa is very stable and very heavy (100/120kg). Considering its age in a good antique condition. There are slightly marks on the upholstery surface, but doesn’t affect its function and aesthetic.
