Here for sale is an exceptionally beautiful and rare art deco gilt patinated wrought iron paperweight depicting a coiled serpent/snake by famed French ironworker and weapons designer Edgar William Brandt (24 December 1880 – 8 May 1960).
Provenance: Olivers Auctions.
The piece is stamped "E. Brandt" and is a perfect centrepiece from circa 1921-26.
The dimensions are: H: 13 CM, W: 9.5 CM, D: 9 CM and the weight is roughly 800 Grams. The condition and wear are consistent with the age of the paperweight(please see photos for further information).
This is an incredibly rare piece and a must have for any Edgar William Brandt enthusiast and art deco collector.
