Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar - French masterpiece of early Romanticism with a sound from another time

There are instruments that not only play music, but also take you straight back to a bygone era. The Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar is just such a guitar. It dates back to the early heyday of Romantic guitar music and embodies the fine, elegant sound aesthetic that inspired composers such as Sor, Giuliani and Aguado.

The Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar was made by one of the most interesting French luthiers of the 19th century. Joseph Lété, born in Mirecourt in 1804, received his training there before moving to Paris and working with Charles François Gand, among others. Even Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume was at times associated with his workshop. Lété later settled in Nantes, where he made his own instruments and made a name for himself as a craftsman of the highest quality.

Even at first glance, the Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar reveals its exceptional craftsmanship. The fine spruce top harmonizes perfectly with the warm, shimmering cherry wood of the back and sides. The arched fingerboard is not only a visual highlight, but also a sign of the sophisticated construction methods of the time. Every detail appears well thought out, elegant and implemented with great precision craftsmanship.

However, the Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar only reveals its true strength when played. The sound is surprisingly full and present for an instrument of this era. The slightly larger and deeper body provides an impressive volume and exceptional carrying power. At the same time, the tone remains charming, sweet and finely resolved - precisely the timbre associated with the best Lacote-style instruments.

The Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar offers a fascinating sound palette. It reacts sensitively to every nuance of playing and enables a depth of expression that is particularly ideal for romantic repertoire. Chords sound clear and transparent, melodies develop a singing quality that speaks directly to the listener. This guitar brings the music of the 19th century to life with an authenticity that few instruments can match.

With a scale length of 632 mm and a nut width of 51 mm, the Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar is comfortable and easy to play. The neck is straight, the string action is comfortably adjusted and enables an effortless playing feel - both for historical performance practice and for modern interpretations.

The condition of the Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar is remarkably good for its age. It has been professionally restored and is now in excellent playing condition. It has completely retained its historical character and combines stability with authentic vintage charm.

The Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar is supplied with its original wooden case - a rare detail that further emphasizes the historical value of this instrument.

The Joseph Lété 1833 Romantic guitar is more than just a historical guitar. It is a sounding contemporary document, a masterfully crafted instrument and a rare opportunity to experience the true sound of the Romantic era. An exceptional piece of music history for collectors and musicians alike.
