Very large painting of Cindy (Crawford) - really fantastic to see in real; I try to put a picture as well as I can, but difficult to capture it right. 'Cindy' was ment to be the cover of Playmen 4 (1994), they even already made the mock-up - but in the end it wasn't used, and they took a more erotic image instead - or maybe they were scared to get their asses sued. Sperlonga didn't know (I asked him). Large and rare work of Lorenzo Sperlonga, famous for his cover work for Heavy Metal. Sperlonga's work is highly sought after. At least 8 art-books of him were published, and he was asked to paint the cover of the Heavy Metal 'Wings' calendar. The painting is signed with his logo, right under Cindy, and again at the back in gold ink. Magazine is shown for reference, but is not part of this auction - also because it doesn't exist.
