HISTORY of the Model: this model sports a black style military dial with 24hour inside indexes between 1940s. it was made as the example celebration of the victory at the WWII , and was indeed a popular rolex oyster. with its shockproof in the dial, and also being such an example, is a great watch. watch will be shipped 24th august due t holidays. GENERAL INFO: * this is a extremely rare piece from our collection. - Plenty of references here *We are a a group of collectors that are crazy watchlovers, with collector buying approach. - a Boutique-watch Business, that focus on - rare - singular - and different watches. - We are not the typical watch reseller. -> B. HISTORY of the Model: The Lipton as a Canada's Eatons brand name model which sold through their stores. Used on a number of different companies models.Eaton's was a Canadian Department Store (not a watchmaking business). They purchased watches from various watch manufacturers and sold them under the trademark Solar which was registered by T. Eaton & Co. / The T. Eaton Co. Ltd. in 1926. These Oyster models had a variety of names and dial configurations; Oyster Raleigh, Commander, Junior Sport, Explorer, Centregraph, Lipton, Lincoln, Grenfell, Shipmate, and Solar Aqua Rolex Canada considered them in equal esteem to other models, as they were included in their official Rolex brochures at the time. The Oyster Lipton contains a Rolex caliber 59 movement with 15 jewels and watch is not signed a fountaimelon 59 used in models for the American market, due to the fact aegler provided exclusive calibers ( the 700 ) to Europe, therefore for the American market , the caliber 59 was made for rolex. These Oyster watches were used by Canadian soldiers going overseas during WW2 and very few of the Solar Aqua model have shown up making the Solar aqua a rare model. 32 mm diameter. Grey leather size 16 strap. CONDITION REPORT: subjective to me as a collector: Watch has minimal scratches due to being vintage in case, bezel and back case, as well as crystal and dial . nothing to worry about. glass in good condition 9 of 10 Case 9 /10 Bezel 9/10 Belt/bracelet slight scratches 9/10 mint generic bracelet. Dial in good condition 8,5/10 could be refinished. looks great. Buckle/buckle slight scratches 9/10. hands have lost some lume please see photos. radium lume applied in these models is safe.
