HISTORY of the Model: The Lipton as a Canada's Eatons brand name model which sold through their stores. Used on a number of different companies models.Eaton's was a Canadian Department Store (not a watchmaking business). They purchased watches from various watch manufacturers and sold them under the trademark Solar which was registered by T. Eaton & Co. / The T. Eaton Co. Ltd. in 1926. These Oyster models had a variety of names and dial configurations; Oyster Raleigh, Commander, Junior Sport, Explorer, Centregraph, Lipton, Lincoln, Grenfell, Shipmate, and Solar Aqua Rolex Canada considered them in equal esteem to other models, as they were included in their official Rolex brochures at the time. The Oyster Lipton contains a Rolex caliber 59 movement with 15 jewels and watch is not signed a fountaimelon 59 used in models for the American market, due to the fact aegler provided exclusive calibers ( the 700 ) to Europe, therefore for the American market , the caliber 59 was made for rolex. These Oyster watches were used by Canadian soldiers going overseas during WW2 and very few of the Solar Aqua model have shown up making the Solar aqua a rare model. 32 mm diameter.
