Authentic Yasukunito , IJA WW2 officer's sword in unusual mountings (Type 98) "shin gunto" , gendaito. The blade hand forged in Showa period 1940 and signed "Yasutoshi" at the Yasukuni Shrine, Tokyo. Dated : " A lucky day in september 1940 " . Kajiyama Yasutoshi ( his real name is Kojiyama Toshimichi 1915-1942) born in Taisho 4 (1915) in Hiroshima Prefecture. Joined the NTK ( The Nihonto Tanren Kai was a non-profit organization which functioned from Showa 8 (1933) to Showa 20 (1945). It was located on the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. About 30 people worked over during this period and produced about 8000 blades ) in july of Showa 8 (1933) as a sakite and in January of Showa 14 (1939) became a swordsmith. Left Yasukuni Shrine in Showa 16 (1941) because of unhealthy condition and died next year (1942). Produced about 350 blades at Yasukuni . Yasutoshi signed blade is quite rare as he died young with age 27.
The blade has WW 2 time polish and shows minor scratches and stains , but no nicks , no crack or chips, no forging flaws and cutting edge is sharp . Motogasane " : 0,7 cm, " motohaba " : 3,2 cm, length "nagasa" : 66,5 cm, "sori" : 1,5 cm , total length in koshirae : 103 cm. Metal green saya and tsuka has trace of use.
