Beschrijving van de verkoper

Blondie, Nijmegen, Netherlands, 1978
Digital print on 270 gr/m2 Hahnemuhle Archival paper. 41 x 51cm on Passpartout 50x70 cm. Signed. Edition 13/25.

Shipped carefully packed.

In 1978, 50 new punk groups suddenly appeared. At first I didn't like that music very much. So I thought, 'let someone else photograph them'. Nevertheless, I did capture a few of them: New York Dolls (in 1973), Talking Heads and... Blondie!

Gijsbert Hanekroot (Brussels, 1945) began his career in 1969 and worked for magazines and newspapers in the 1970s. His career as a photojournalist fit perfectly with the explosion of the rock scene. He masterfully documented the golden age of music history and photographed many of the greatest icons of the era. Hanekroot strove to capture images that revealed the person behind the musician. This resulted in portraits that are natural and intimate, relaxed and sincere. And in dazzling concert photographs.
The photographer is represented by Blitz Gallery, Tokyo, Blue Lotus Gallery, Hong Kong, Mondo Galeria, Madrid, Proud Galleries, London and ONO-Arte, Bologna, among others.
