This is an American lifeboat compass, model LMC-101-D, with visible serial number 19022. This type of compass was used as a nautical instrument on lifeboats and small vessels and is now an attractive collector’s item for enthusiasts of maritime instruments and nautical antiques.

The compass is in used, original vintage condition with normal traces of age, use and storage, consistent with a maritime object of this age. The original patina, wear and signs of use are visible on the casing.
