Beschrijving van de verkoper
Antique wooden trunk with a characteristic arched (dome-shaped) lid, dating to the late 19th – early 20th century, of European origin.
The trunk is constructed from solid wood and finished in its original green painted surface, decorated with hand-painted rectangular borders in ochre/yellow tones. The surface shows a naturally aged patina, consistent with long-term use.
The chest retains its original iron hardware, including:
• riveted iron corner and edge reinforcements
• original front locking mechanism (key not present)
• side carrying handles
The domed lid construction was traditionally used to prevent water accumulation, indicating the trunk was likely intended for travel or storage.
