The softly scalloped rims are finished with genuine 24-carat gold decoration, adding refinement and luxury to each piece. The pattern achieved international fame after winning the Grand Prize at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851. Its popularity increased even further when Queen Victoria herself ordered a complete dinner service in this design for the royal palace.
