Kôro komin do kadzideł orła i wiewiórki - Brązowy - Japonia - Druga połowa XIX wieku (wczesny okres Meiji)
A rare and refined patinated bronze kôro 香炉 (censer), skilfully modelled as a hawk 鷹 (taka) perched atop a rugged rock formation. The proud bird stands upright, wings held close to its body, its head turned intently toward a squirrel 栗鼠 (risu) darting away at the base of the rock, entangled amidst finely cast grape tendrils and leaves 葡萄 (budô).
Executed in four separate sections: the rock base, squirrel, hawk, and removable cover with a small opening for incense.
Period: Japan – Second half 19th century (Early Meiji period).
Dimensions:
Height 42 cm, Width 25 cm, Depth 20 cm.
Weight 9.3 kg.
