Petri C.C Auto 55mm F1.8 — Petri FT Mount Hello from Japan! We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world. Petri (originally Kuribayashi Camera Industry, founded 1907 in Tokyo) was one of Japan's pioneering camera makers. The C.C Auto 55mm F1.8 was a standard lens fitted to Petri's SLR line such as the Petri Flex V, FT, FT II and FT EE, originally introduced in 1964. "C.C" stands for "Color Corrected," and the lens uses a classic 6-element/4-group double-Gauss design with a fully automatic preset diaphragm. Wide open it shows a soft, atmospheric rendering with gentle bokeh; stopped down to f/5.6 and beyond it becomes pleasingly sharp with neutral colors and strong micro-contrast — a hidden-gem nifty-fifty that is increasingly sought after by collectors of vintage Japanese optics. This example is in the Petri FT breech-lock bayonet mount, used exclusively on Petri SLR bodies. Petri-mount lenses are uncommon today, which makes this an interesting piece for Petri system collectors. IMPORTANT — Please read carefully: There is slight haze inside the lens, and partial peeling of the internal coating is visible on one of the inner elements. This is a permanent condition and cannot be repaired. It may cause a mild reduction in contrast or a subtle veiling effect in strong backlight, which some users enjoy as a "vintage character." If you require flawless optics, please refrain from bidding. Condition: USED — Good Pre-owned with distinct signs of use and minor optical flaws. Mechanically sound and fully functional. Optical defects as described above. Serial Number Please check the photo. Appearance Some scuffs and scratches from normal use, consistent with age. Please check the photos for details. Optical Condition Haze: Slight Fungus: No Scratch: No Balsam separation: No Dust: Some (does not affect shooting) Coating: Partial peeling visible on an inner element (see IMPORTANT note above) Functional Helicoid (focus ring): Smooth Aperture blades: Clean, move properly, no oil Aperture ring: Clicks correctly at all stops Known Issues Partial peeling of the internal coating on one inner element. Slight internal haze. These are reflected in the description but the lens remains fully usable. Mount Petri FT breech-lock bayonet mount (for Petri SLR cameras only). Please note: this mount is NOT compatible with M42, Pentax K, Canon FD, or Nikon F bodies. Mirrorless adapters for the Petri mount are rare but do exist for some systems. Bundled Items Only the items shown in the photos are included. Lens caps and other accessories are not included unless visible in the photos. Important Notes for Used Items As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described. Shipping We ship via Japan Post (ePacket Light).
