Willem Vleeschouwer (Hilversum, 1950), also known as WéVé, is a renowned Dutch comic artist, illustrator, and sculptor. He is best known for his long-running comic series De Spoorstraat, a humorous and relatable chronicle of daily life on an Amsterdam street. Vleeschouwer studied at the Graphic School Utrecht and the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. His work is characterized by a clear, atmospheric drawing style with a keen eye for detail, humor, and human interaction. In addition to comics, he also creates illustrations, political cartoons, and sculptures.
