Olympus PEN EE-2 — Designed by Yoshihisa Maitani Hello from Japan! We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world. The Olympus PEN EE-2 is a 35mm half-frame compact camera produced from 1968 to 1977. It belongs to the legendary PEN series originally launched in 1959 — the first half-frame camera made in Japan — designed by the iconic Olympus engineer Yoshihisa Maitani, who later designed the OM and XA systems. The EE-2 is fitted with the famous Olympus D.Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 lens (a Tessar-type design) and uses a battery-free selenium cell light meter for fully automatic exposure. The half-frame format captures two 18x24mm images on a single 35mm frame, giving 72 shots from a single 36-exposure roll — perfect for travel and street photography. Compared to the original PEN EE, the EE-2 added a hot shoe, a hinged back, an automatic exposure counter, and an updated ISO range. Light seals have been replaced.
