Olieverf op paneel This painting is part of my ongoing exploration of figures who seem to withdraw from the outside world for a moment. I am interested in the quiet spaces where the body can rest, where noise fades, and where a person seems to disappear slightly into themselves. The bath in this work is not only a physical place, but also a kind of inner shelter. The figure is surrounded by pale water and a dark, muted background, creating a feeling of stillness and distance. For me, the work is about escape in a very subtle sense: not running away, but finding a private space inside yourself where you can breathe again. In much of my work, I return to themes of vulnerability, beauty, silence and the passing of time. Here, the body is calm, but not empty. It carries a quiet emotional tension, as if the figure is resting between thought and surrender. The painting will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
