INTERESTING SOVIET PGF2MI-11A "METAN" PORTABLE GAS ANALYZER – 1985
Interesting and rarely encountered PGF2MI-11A "METAN" portable gas analyzer, manufactured in the Soviet Union in 1985. The instrument was designed for periodic measurement of methane concentrations in potentially explosive environments, particularly in mining operations, industrial facilities and technical safety applications.
“Instruments of this type were used in mining, industry and technical safety services operating in potentially explosive environments. Similar equipment could also be employed by engineering and technical units of Soviet state services.”
This example is preserved in very good condition. It features its original bakelite housing, complete measuring panel with analog gauge, control valves and manual sampling pump. The inside of the lid retains the original operating instructions and measuring table in Russian.
The analyzer is fitted with its original leather carrying strap. Clear factory markings, the original identification plate dated 1985 and the preserved equipment make it a highly attractive collectible for enthusiasts of scientific instruments, industrial technology, mining history and Soviet engineering.
Condition is very good. The housing retains its original appearance, all visible components are complete and the markings remain clearly readable. Only minor traces of age and use are present.
